Youth Gone Mad signed onto the Posh Boy Records roster, scored a minor radio hit with "Oki Dogs" in 1981, and played with bands such as Black Flag, Caustic Cause, The Mentors, The Stains, Fear, and others.
The album was the first release by the Mentors on CD, and collects the tracks from the albums You Axed for It! and Up the Dose, although two tracks from each had to be omitted due to length limitations of the CD format.
