As he neared high school graduation, Buss was recruited as a trombonist into the nationally known group, the Tijuana Brats. In the 3 years he performed with the band he appeared numerous times on national television programs including The Tonight Show, The Mike Douglas Show (multiple times), and The Jerry Lewis Telethon.
As a television producer he helped to develop and produce many shows including Good Morning America, The Mike Douglas Show, Mother's Day (a popular show on Lifetime Television), Mother's Minutes, and Everyday.
Through his work with The McGuire Sisters, Kane also worked with The Kane Triplets, who later performed on The Jack Benny Show, The Ed Sullivan Show, The Mike Douglas Show, The Perry Como Show and The Tonight Show.
The single "The Barnyard Song" received a smattering of airplay on WNEW-FM and the band had a national television appearance on The Mike Douglas Show.
Moe Howard also later performed a variation of the routine, with Mike Douglas and Soupy Sales, in a 1970s television appearance on The Mike Douglas Show.
After the "Mike Douglas Show," Krauss went on to produce for Good Morning America where he was nominated for two emmys including one for "Producer, Best Daytime Show."
