Chapter 8 was a Detroit soul group of the 1970s and '80s formed by Michael J. Powell and David Washington. Anita Baker was featured as lead vocalist on their first, self-titled album on Ariola entitled Chapter 8 in 1979, produced by Michael and Derek. Their second album, This Love's for Real was released on Beverley Glen Records in 1985, and their third album, Forever, followed on Capitol Records in 1988.
The album became a sleeper hit with help of five singles that attained chart success, including the Billboard hit "Harder to Breathe" and international hits "This Love" and "She Will Be Loved".

Four singles were released from the album: "When Love and Death Embrace," which reached #9 on the Finnish chart, "Your Sweet Six Six Six," which reached #7 on the Finnish chart also, "Wicked Game," and "It's All Tears (Drown in This Love)." Greatest Lovesongs Vol. 666 reached #4 on the Finnish album chart and #50 on the German album chart.
