In 2009, he was the focus of Stockholm Concert Hall's annual Composer Festival and was in 2010 appointed foreign member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Music.

Baldur is committed to contemporary music and has championed the music of composers such as Harrison Birtwistle, Brett Dean, Unsuk Chin, Thomas Ades, John Adams and Jonathan Harvey.
His close ties with composers has led him to perform a great number of works by, amongst other, Luciano Berio, György Kurtág, Magnus Lindberg, Osvaldo Golijov, Yan Maresz, Michael Jarrell, Brian Ferneyhough, Marco Stroppa, Bruno Mantovani and Thomas Adès.
He has recorded Thomas Adès’ song cycle The Lover in Winter with the countertenor Robin Blaze for EMI Classics, and his recording of contemporary British music for violin and piano with Alexandra Wood was released on Usk in 2005.
Josefowicz is acclaimed for championing new compositions, including the works of John Adams, Oliver Knussen and Thomas Adès.
Significant LBO productions during Milenski's tenure included Powder Her Face by Thomas Adès, Richard Strauss’ Elektra (which was televised in Germany), Janáček's From the House of the Dead, The Beaumarchais Trilogy and the complete operas of Claudio Monteverdi.
His video for In Seven Days, Piano Concerto with Moving Image, composed by Thomas Adès, was premiered by the London Sinfonietta at the Royal Festival Hall in London on 28 April 2008.
