2009: Signed agreement with Tongji University, Shanghai, China, to establish a teacher and student exchange program between Bancroft and Tongji’s Number 1 High School.
It divides Tongji University, located in the north of Shanghai, into two parts: the North Campus and the South Campus.
This station is used by people from a relatively large area, including many students living on Fudan University and Tongji University campuses.

The garden is in the traditional yuanlin (園林) style, and was designed by Cao Yongkang of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Chen Ling of Tongji University, and Tan Yufeng of Shanghai Museum.
He has been a visiting professor to Universitetet Oslo, Aarhus Universitet, Universität Wien, Danube University Krems, University of Colorado, University of Lübeck, University of Basel, University of Costa Rica, Xi'an University of Science and Technology and Tongji University.

GLORAD was founded in 2003 by Max von Zedtwitz at Tsinghua University in Beijing, expanded to the University of St. Gallen in 2004, and moved its China office to Tongji University in 2008.
