The album is the second collaboration between Belle & Sebastian and Tony Hoffer, who produced their previous album, The Life Pursuit.
Lawler played some solo shows before heading to Los Angeles in late 2010 to record his debut solo album, Psycho Jukebox with Tony Hoffer, who produced the first Fratellis' album.
After demo sessions in Rye, United Kingdom, the band flew to Los Angeles, California to record with producer Tony Hoffer in the Summer of 2002.
