The only NHL team without a CHL affiliate that year, the Toronto Maple Leafs, joined the league through its affiliation with the Tulsa Oilers in the CHL's second season.
Chouinard played failed to score a point in eight NHL games, but he did go on to play eight more years of professional hockey with New Haven Eagles (1928–31 and 1933–34), Bronx Tigers (1931–32), Riviere-du-Loup Lancers and Quebec Castors (1932–33), Tulsa Oilers and London Tecumsehs (1934–36), and Perth Crescents (1937–38).
In December 2007 Smyth joined the Corpus Christi IceRays of the Central Hockey League (CHL) where he played until he was traded to the Tulsa Oilers in February 2009 in exchange for Jereme Tendler.
The Flames assigned Plett to their minor league affiliate, the Tulsa Oilers of the Central Hockey League (CHL), for the 1975–76 season where developed under the team's coach, and former NHL enforcer, Orland Kurtenbach.
As a professional, DeGrio played with the Tulsa Oilers in the CHL for the 1982-83 and 1983-84 seasons, and then spent the next three season with the Salt Lake Golden Eagles in the IHL, before playing his final season (1987–88) of hockey with the Dundee Tigers.
