Destroyer Squadron 50

For much of 1944, the squadron operated together with Admiral Marc Mitscher’s Fast Carrier Task Force, screening USS Enterprise and a number of other carriers in Rear Admiral John W. Reeves’ Task Group during the Marshall Islands and Marianas operations.

USS Enterprise

Space Shuttle Enterprise (OV-101), the first Space Shuttle Orbiter, used for test flights in earth atmosphere, landing procedures, and ground tests between 1975 and 1985.

Enterprise, a J-class racing yacht that won the America's Cup in 1930.

VSS Enterprise, the first commercial spaceship being constructed by Virgin Galactic.

It was named after the fictional vessel from the Star Trek franchise, and later appeared in the opening sequence to Star Trek: Enterprise.
