In July 1931 Bretaigne Windust, Charles Leatherbee (the grandson of Charles Richard Crane), and Joshua Logan, the three directors of the University Players, a three-year old summer stock company at West Falmouth on Cape Cod, were looking for a leading lady for their repertory season that winter in Baltimore.
Babcock is one of four McGill University players to coach an NHL team (Lester Patrick guided the New York Rangers; George Burnett served in Edmonton; and Guy Boucher served in Tampa Bay).
At Princeton she was a member of the Triangle Club and performed in and choreographed various shows for Princeton University Players and Theatre Intime.
In 2007 Tír Conaill Harps has formed a link up with Glasgow Caledonian University GAC which sees university players compete at club level for the Harps.
