He has a Ph.D in Classical Philology and he is a teacher of Latin at the University of Oviedo, where he served as vice dean of the Faculty of Philology from 1996 to 2008.
He took the archaeologist D. Miguel Ángel de Blas Cortina of the University of Oviedo to see the Castro, who subsequently studied the excavation site.
