Tan graduated with a Bachelor of Accountancy from University of Singapore, now National University of Singapore (NUS), and a Master of Commerce with Honours from the University of New South Wales.
She has also been Chair, US National Committee for Pacific Science Association, (2009–2011), Visiting Professor, Yonsei University, (2010), Visiting Senior Researcher, Asia Research Institute, National University of Singapore (2009), Visiting Professor, City University of Hong Kong, (2001).
Before taking up his appointments at the National University of Singapore, he was Professor of Philosophy (Personal Chair) and Acting Head of the School of Philosophy, Linguistics, and Bioethics at Monash University, Australia.
However, the College of Medicine Building in Sepoy Lines is preserved to be used as the seat of the National University of Singapore's Academy of Medicine, whose members are alumni.
Ho had his early education at Anglo-Chinese School (Independent) and National Junior College, before going on to earn a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from the National University of Singapore, and a Master of Laws (LLM) from Harvard Law School.

Lai Yee Hing graduated with a B.Sc from the former Nanyang University (now National University of Singapore) in 1976 and received his PhD from the University of Victoria in 1980.

He is Professor of Medicine at the National University of Singapore and Senior Consultant at the Division of Nephrology, Department of Medicine, National University Hospital (NUH).
Currently, Wang is University Professor at the National University of Singapore, and also Chairman of the Managing Board of the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy.
Yeoh was a Public Service Star (B.B.M.) recipient, an active Rotarian, and a Justice of the Peace who also served as chairman of various boards including the Detainees' Aftercare Association and the University of Singapore Council.
