Baron Fairhaven

Broughton was the eldest son of the civil engineer, businessman and Conservative Member of Parliament, Urban H. Broughton, who died in January 1929 before his intended elevation to the peerage as Baron Fairhaven.

The asteroid was discovered on August 29, 2000 by J. Broughton at the Reedy Creek Observatory and is named for Victor Chang.

When it opened in 1911, the course was called the National Golf Links of America because its 67 founding members, which included Robert Bacon, George W. Baxter, Urban H.
