Bangalore Medical College and Research Institute

Victoria Hospital, inaugurated on 8 December 1900 by Lord Curzon the then Viceroy of India, started as a health centre with 140 bed strength, is now the second largest Hospital in India accommodating more than 1000 patients at a time.


History of Bangalore

A health officer was appointed in 1898, the city was divided into four wards for better coordination and the Victoria Hospital was inaugurated in 1900 by Lord Curzon, the then Viceroy and Governor-General of British India.
