The Dolphins eventually won the Division 2A State Championship against Wakefield by a score of 35-0, and completed an undefeated season at 13-0.
In 1984 Connors was asked to be the head coach at Wakefield High School to turn around their struggling program.

It was founded by Mark Robinson (of Unrest) in 1984 at Wakefield High School along with Phil Krauth (of Unrest), Andrew (Riley) Beaujon (of Eggs), Tim Moran (of Unrest), and Ian Zack (Thirsty Boys).
