approximately 15 miles by stagecoach heading north of Wauconda along Toroda Creek (County Road 9495) off Washington State Route 20.
The highway proceeds west for a short distance, passing several buildings that make up the twin, before U.S. Route 2 splits off, and the Loop designation transfers to Washington State Route 20.
North Cascades Highway, also known as Washington State Route 20, follows the Skagit River to where it turns away from the river at Ross Dam and follows Ruby Creek instead.

It is near the Keystone Ferry Landing, a dock for the Washington State Ferries route to Port Townsend that provides a maritime link for State Route 20 across Admiralty Inlet.
