The tournament's Frozen Four – the semifinals and finals – will be hosted by ECAC Hockey at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Later that same week, on February 23, 2013 Simmonds recorded yet another Gordie Howe hat trick in a 5–3 win against the Winnipeg Jets at Wells Fargo Center, fighting Chris Thorburn assisting on the Flyers first goal and scoring the game-winning goal.
