Haynes appeared in a number of films and television series, such as Batman and the second Star Trek pilot episode "Where No Man Has Gone Before".
He is known to Star Trek fans for his script for the second pilot episode, "Where No Man Has Gone Before", as well as "Beyond the Farthest Star", the first episode of the animated series Star Trek.
Special effect scleral lenses have also been used to produce eerie eye effects in films, such as the whited-out eyes of the monsters in Evil Dead, or blacked-out eyes in Underworld and Underworld: Evolution, or the Star Trek episode Where No Man Has Gone Before.
It is the result of the combined input of several people, including Star Trek creator Gene Roddenberry and producers John D. F. Black and Bob Justman.
