Broadwood Stadium

A much more high profile relocation of this kind took place in England in 2003, when Wimbledon F.C. relocated to Milton Keynes (some 70 miles from their historic South London home) in search of a location that would attract more support, and the following year were rebranded as Milton Keynes Dons.

Dave Swindlehurst

After a spell in Cyprus with Anorthosis Famagusta, Swindlehurst returned to London to play for Wimbledon, but he managed just two appearances in the season they got to the 1988 FA Cup Final.

John Cheesewright

In June 1995 he appeared on loan for Wimbledon in a 4–0 defeat to Bursaspor in a group match of the 1995 UEFA Intertoto Cup, when English clubs were not taking the competition seriously.

Keith Burge

He was on the first list of referees to officiate in the new Premier League for the 1992-93 season, and made his debut there on 5 September 1992, taking charge of the 3-2 win by Wimbledon over Arsenal at Plough Lane.

On Boxing Day 2011, the club confirmed the appointment of ex Chelsea, Wimbledon and Crystal Palace striker Neil Shipperley as their new manager.

Willie McFaul

McFaul signed Brazil's flamboyant striker Mirandinha to replace Beardsley, and with Wimbledon winger Glyn Hodges coming in as well as Irish teenager Michael O'Neill, Newcastle had their best season under McFaul finishing eighth, with Gascoigne taking all the plaudits winning the PFA Young Player of the Year award.
