The school is also involved in World Challenge, every two years sending a group to a country to participate both in adventure and charity work.
There are a huge variety of courses for students to choose form including The Duke of Edinburgh's Award, sports, music and drama, information technology, voluntary services and The World Challenge; additionally students are free to start new courses on the proviso they can gain enough support for them.

Parkin- Coates made his cricketing debut for England Under-15s in the Under-15 World Challenge in 2000, alongside future first-class cricketers such as James Hildreth and David Stiff.
The project placed second in the BBC/Newsweek World Challenge competition in 2005 and receiving the top award from the technical jury headed by Shell Oil Company out of 500 projects from 80 countries.
