Lotus Pond was the site for several water sporting events for World Games 2009, including canoe polo, water ski, and dragon boat.
The show also had a routine by British Champion roller-dancers Darren Dyke and Kirsty Chick, who represented Great Britain at the 2009 World Games.
They have competed for their club and for Great Britain all over Europe, including the 2008 Acrobatic Gymnastics World Championships, with six of them competing for GB in Taiwan at the 2009 World Games, an Olympic style event for non-Olympic events.
The station is named the "World Games Station" due to its proximity to Kaohsiung National Stadium where World Games 2009 was held.

The life saving competition at the World Games 2009 took place from July 23 to July 25, at the Kaohsiung Swimming Pool and Sizihwan Bay in Kaohsiung, Taiwan.
Each teams roster for the World Games 2009 consists of at least 8 skaters (forwards, and defencemen) and 2 goaltenders, and at most 16 skaters and 3 goaltenders.
