The newscast is currently anchored by John Muller and Diana Perez, who also serve as anchors of ABC's overnight news program World News Now (it is the only early morning news program using a two-anchor format as the CBS Morning News and NBC's Early Today maintain a solo anchor).
ABC's 6:30 PM network newscast, World News with Diane Sawyer, airs at 4:30 PM on KWYB (Montana is in the Mountain Time Zone, two hours behind the East Coast.) KWYB airs Nightline one-half hour after the 10 PM local evening news ends and fills the overnight schedule with World News Now and ABC World News This Morning.
Initially, some elements from World News Now were brought over to World News This Morning including the "Morning Papers" segment and that program's Yanni-composed theme music (played over the original World News This Morning opening graphics) as well as the laid-back attitude.
During his time on World News Now, Owens was involved in controversy when the two anchors inappropriately made light of Owen Wilson's suicide attempt on-air and they were reprimanded for this by ABC News.
