A dam was planned on Yom River in Kaeng Suea Ten in 1991 but the project was later abandoned.
The site of the controversial Kaeng Suea Ten Dam on Yom River is located close to the southern edge of the park area.
These waters, Khlong Ta Chek, Khlong Sao Ho, Khlong Wang Ngen, Khlong Noen Khli, Khlong Duang Ngam, Khlong Lan Thong, Khlong Masang and Khong Phetchahueng are also tributaries of the Yom River to the east, and the Ping River in the west.
In this district, near the Yom River, there is a monastery called Wat Bangkaew where it is believed that Thai Bangkaew Dogs originated.
