Willsheer achieved worldwide acclaim while photographing an NHRA Funny Car drag race featuring Steve Gasparelli at Pomona raceway on 14 December 2009.
Built by San Francisco-based New Zealand engineer Ian Wright, the X1 created a stir when it bested several sports cars in a drag race, including a Carrera GT (even with a rolling start, an advantage for the gas burning vehicles), all while being filmed by local news station KRON 4.
Tiff Needell drove the 641 on Top Gear in 1995 in a segment where his co-host Jeremy Clarkson tested a Ferrari F50 and did a drag race against Needell in the 641 and some comparisons as well.
Visage went on to become a talk show host, along with RuPaul on the cable channel VH1 and can be seen as a current judge on the LOGO hit show RuPaul's DRAG RACE.
Other challenges include a drag race between a Holden VE Commodore ute and a standard looking Ford Transit van customised (unknowingly to the Australian presenters) with a Jaguar XJ220 engine, and the double car race seen in Series 11 of Top Gear UK.
