The current church was built early in the 19th century from coigue and cypress wood and is lined with alerce, cypress and mañio.
It was a conventional, low-wing cantilever monoplane of mixed construction, with fabric covered wooden wings and tail surfaces (making extensive use of Mañío, an indigenous wood).
