Rudi Gelbhaar (24 January 1915 – 25 March 1979) was a highly decorated Oberleutnant (MA) der Reserve in the Kriegsmarine during World War II.

He served as naval artillery officer in World War II, and he was one of the survivors of the sinking of the Finnish Navy flagship, the coastal defence ship Ilmarinen in 1941.
They then sailed along the Saigon River to the mouth of the Citadel of Saigon and opened fire with naval artillery from close range.
