Jean Baptiste Alexandre Strolz

Jean-Baptiste Alexandre Baron de Strolz, born on 6 August 1771 in Belfort, France, died on 27 October 1841 in Paris, was a French General during the Napoleonic wars, Baron of the First French Empire, Member of Parliament and pair de France.

Jean Baptiste Camille Canclaux

Made a pair de France on the Restoration, Napoleon kept him as such during the Hundred Days but Canclaux refused to support him, though this did not prevent him being struck from the list of peers by the royal ordinance of 24 July 1815.

Maximilien de Béthune, Duke of Sully

In 1599, he was appointed grand commissioner of highways and public works, superintendent of fortifications and grand master of artillery; in 1602 governor of Nantes and of Jargeau, captain-general of the Queen's gens d'armes and governor of the Bastille; in 1604 he was governor of Poitou; and in 1606 made first duke of Sully and a pair de France, ranking next to princes of the blood.
