The music was yet another thrilling endeavour of Shankar Jaikishan, with tracks ranging soothing melodies such as "Aaja Sanam" and "Yeh raat Bheegi Bheegi" in voices of Lata Mangeshkar and Manna Dey, to fast beat songs such as "Jahan Mein Jati Hun" by Lata and Manna and "Sawa Lakh ki Lottery," with the vocals of the maestro Mohammad Rafi.
The sanam tradition is a kind of dance music popular among the Uyghurs, while spoken songs like Maida, Eytishish and Qoshaq are popular love songs with simple tunes.

Shivaranjani was a favourite of the legendary composers Shankar-Jaikishan (in fact, to be more precise, that of both Shankar and Jaikishan), in addition to the aforementioned song from Mera Naam Joker they also used it for O basanti pavan paagal ("O bewitching spring breeze") in Jis Desh Men Ganga Behti Hai and O mere sanam ("O my love") in Sangam Mere naina Saon Vhado.
