Two side platforms: Platform 1 is for the clockwise route (順行) surrounding Taiwan Island (going south at this station such as Yilan, Hualien), while Platform 2 for the counterclockwise one (逆行) (going north such as Taipei, Keelung).
Pedestrian access between the two side platforms is by a subway to the south or a footbridge to the north (the footbridge also crosses State Highway 2 to Pito-one Road).
It is double tracked with staggered side platforms; the up platform (north, towards Paraparaumu) is on the north side of the Tawa Street level crossing, the down platform (towards Wellington) on the south.
In Jersey City, the Newport PATH station has the same configuration as Bowling Green—one side platform and one island platform.
Minnamurra station has a side platform with near street level access, connected by a ramp to the streetside entrance.
