This station utilizes side platforms with three rail lines running through the middle, one going towards Jinshajiang Road, one going towards Zhenbei Road, and a third used to store extra carriages.
Like Dover MRT station on East West Line, this station has two opposing side platforms, because this station is located between two bends.
It is thought to become a through station with two off-side platforms, originally designed as an intermediate station, with a terminus called Tsuen Wan West further north west near the present day Tsuen King Garden apartments (different from the present West Rail Line Tsuen Wan West Station).
