He collected the types of Eucalyptus websteriana (Webster's Mallee), later named in his honour, and Acacia coolgardiensis (Spinifex Wattle).
Bridges span many creeks and rivers, which from the distance can be spotted by stands of eucalyptus which grow along their courses towering above the surrounding spinifex and mulga plants.

A type locality is the Gullewa Greenstone Belt, in the Murchison region of Western Australia, and the Duketon Belt near Laverton, where pyroxene spinifex lavas are closely associated with gold deposits.
