Prior to his involvement with Garcia, Kahn played on The Live Adventures of Mike Bloomfield and Al Kooper and was briefly a member of The Paul Butterfield Blues Band in one of its later line-ups.
Paul A. Rothchild (April 18, 1935 - March 30, 1995) was a prominent American producer of the late 1960s and 1970s, widely known for his historic work with The Doors and early production of The Paul Butterfield Blues Band.
It features the earliest studio recordings by the Lovin' Spoonful and the Paul Butterfield Blues Band, as well as the only released recordings by the ad hoc studio group Eric Clapton and the Powerhouse, until they were reissued years later.
