Lithuanian Air Force

Air Base and Air Force Armament and Equipment Repair Depot are located in Šiauliai.

From 1995 to 1999, according a decree of Lithuanian Government the First Aviation Base was relocated to Zokniai airfield nearby Šiauliai, which was used for fighter wing, radio-electronic fight and reconnaissance squadrons dislocation during the Soviet occupation.


1940 Soviet ultimatum to Lithuania

The Red Army was scheduled to enter Lithuanian territory from three separate directions at 3:00 pm and had orders to take control of Vilnius, Kaunas, Raseiniai, Panevėžys, and Šiauliai.

Cantemus

Cantemus is an active participant in the Church Choir Festivals in Marijampolė and Šiauliai, the vocal jazz festival in Panevėžys, the festival of modern Jewish music, the concerts of the music of Jeronimas Kačinskas, and many other musical events in Lithuania.
