Bodo Illgner

Born in Koblenz, Illgner was a product of 1. FC Köln's youth system, and made his debut in the Bundesliga on 22 February 1986 at not yet 19, in a 1–3 away loss against FC Bayern Munich.

Carlos Eduardo Marques

On 4 May 2008, Carlos Eduardo received a three game suspension after video evidence showed him kicking 1. FC Köln player Roda Antar in the face.

Diego Contento

He was in the starting XI for the next two games against Hamburger SV and 1. FC Köln, but was injured in the latter, and replaced by fellow youth team graduate David Alaba.

FC Köln side of the early 1980s, where he played alongside the likes of Dieter Müller, Bernd Schuster, Tony Woodcock, Rainer Bonhof, Bernhard Cullmann, Klaus Fischer, Klaus Allofs and Stephan Engels.

Sławomir Peszko

Peszko won cup and championships in his native Poland with Wisła Płock and Lech Poznań before moving to German football with 1. FC Köln in 2011.

Ståle Solbakken

On 14 May 2011 it was announced that Solbakken would take over as manager of 1. FC Köln of the German Bundesliga from sporting director Volker Finke, who acted as interim manager after Frank Schaefer quit during the season.

Tomoaki Makino

On January 2012, he returned to J. League, loaned by 1. FC Köln to Urawa Reds, when he will be coached again by his former Sanfrecce's coach, Mihailo Petrović.
