The first 12-inch (30 cm) single was actually a 10-inch (25 cm) acetate used by a mix engineer (José Rodríguez) in need of a Friday-night test copy for famed disco mixer Tom Moulton.
Following several 12-inch singles, Schnitt Acht (alternately spelled SCHNITT Acht!) released their first album Subhuman Minds in 1990.

"Eat the Music" also appears on the UK "And So Is Love" CD single, in the same version as on the 12-inch single featured on the U.S. CD and cassingle.
It was released on cassette, CD and 12" format accompanied by a B-side entitled "Get Down" as well as previous hit "I Know Where It's At" and a remix of "Never Ever". "Bootie Call" achieved chart success; topping the UK Singles Chart on 6 September 1998 and at the same time becoming the group's third consecutive number-one hit.

Gantz Graf is a three-track EP released by Autechre in 2002 on CD and 12". A special DVD release was made available featuring the "Gantz Graf" video created by Alex Rutterford, as well as the videos for "Basscadet" (directed by Jess Scott Hunter and edited by D.A. Slade) and "Second Bad Vilbel" (directed by Chris Cunningham, and an updated version from the original), and a slide show of stills from the "Gantz Graf" video.
The song was released as the second single from Far Beyond Driven, and the follow up single to their hit single "I'm Broken" in 1994 on EastWest Records as a 12" single. It came in a 12" gatefold with a blood-red vinyl.
Although the song was released as a Cassette single, Promo CD Single and 12" Promo vinyl single, a video was never shot, nor did the song get radio play.
