For his accomplishments he was presented with a ceremonial javelin by King Georgios I. This javelin is still on display in a local pub near Sheridan's hometown in Bohola, County Mayo, Ireland.

Canadian Billy Sherring lived in Greece for two months, to adjust to the local conditions.

Irish American Athletic Club

In addition to winning numerous local and regional Amateur Athletic Union competitions, Irish American Athletic Club members competed for the U.S. Olympic team in the 1900 Olympic Games in Paris, the 1904 Olympic Games in St. Louis, the 1906 Intercalated Games in Athens, Greece, the 1908 Olympics in London, the 1912 Olympics in Stockholm and the 1920 Olympic Games in Antwerp.

Kitty Pilgrim

Kathryn Pilgrim is the great niece of Olympic Gold medalsist Paul Henry Pilgrim, who won three gold medals at the 1904 and 1906 Summer Olympics.
