In the next-to-last game of the regular season against Florida, Bunkley injured his left knee on an apparent “chop block” by Gators guard Mo Mitchell, which caused him to miss the remainder of the season including the 2003 Sugar Bowl.
The Marching Firebirds have traveled to many parts of the country to perform including the Hollywood Christmas Parade, Waikiki Holiday Parade in Hawaii, the 2003 Sugar Bowl in New Orleans, and the 2008 Parade of Roses in Pasadena, California, will perform in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in the fall of 2013, and again in the 2015 Parade of Roses in Pasadena, California.
