Spanish pilot Alejandro Maclean died on 17 August 2010, when his plane crashed into the ground while performing a manoeuvre during a training exercise in Casarrubios del Monte.
In October of the same year, he joined the Red Bull Air Race Qualification Camp at Cassarubios, in Madrid, Spain, gaining the Super License and allowing him to start competing in the 2010 Season.
