2G spectrum scam – On 2 February 2012 the bench of Justice AK Ganguly & Justice GS Singhvi quashed 122 2G licenses issued in the year 2008 by A. Raja, then "Union Telecom Minister".

Three of the eleven blocks, in each circle, were reserved or new telecom players for operators whose licences were cancelled by the Supreme Court on 2 February 2012, following the 2G spectrum scam.
T.R. Baalu is the Leader of DMK Parliamentary Party and is the only DMK member in the 30 member Joint Parliamentary Committee that probes the 2G Spectrum scam, where three members from DMK, namely A. Raja, Dayanidhi Maran and Kanimozhi are accused.
