Piska, a Brazilian producer and composer, wrote the lyrics for a cover version of the song, which was recorded by the boy band KLB, and released in their homonymous debut album under the title "A Dor Desse Amor".
The song received nominations for "Best Tropical Song" at the Latin Grammy Awards of 2000, losing to "El Niágara en Bicicleta" by Juan Luis Guerra; and at the Premio Lo Nuestro 2001, losing to "A Puro Dolor" by Son by Four.
