None of Beethoven's Ninth actually appeared in the album tracks, but another classical work did - a medley of the tunes from the opera Carmen, centering on "Habanera", and also including "cameos" from some of the group's earlier hits - "Spanish Flea", "A Taste of Honey", "Whipped Cream", "What Now My Love", "Zorba The Greek" and "Tijuana Taxi" - worked into the track.
On stage she made important appearances in The Elephant Man (play), A Taste of Honey, La malasangre by Griselda Gambaro, A Flea in Her Ear by Georges Feydeau and Lost in Yonkers both directed by China Zorrilla whom she shared the stage in Eva and Victoria, a successful theater play depicting a fictitious meeting between the political leader Eva Perón (Silveyra) and the aristocratic intellectual and writer Victoria Ocampo (Zorrilla).
Sophie also designed the costumes for several Woodfall Films, including Saturday Night and Sunday Morning (1960), A Taste of Honey (1961), The Loneliness of the Long Distance Runner (1962), and This Sporting Life (1963), and for Jack Clayton (The Innocents (1961) and The Pumpkin Eater, for which she won a BAFTA Award for best costume designer.
"Cry Me A River" was of course the signature song of Julie London, while "A Taste of Honey" had coincidentally just been recorded an ocean away by those other icons of the 1960s for their 1963 debut album.
