The Australian Computer Science Network (ACSnet) was a store-and-forward network used to connect Australia's Universities to each other and to ARPANET.
Prior to the connection of the greater internet, there existed an IP-based network linking academic institutions within Australia known as ACSnet, using the top level domain.oz.
