Garson has won numerous awards and honors for his title design and motion graphics work including a Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Achievement in Title Design for Dora the Explorer and five other Emmy nominations, the New York Art Directors Club Award, three BDA Awards, Monitor Award, ID Magazine International Design Award, HOW Magazine International Design Award, AIGA Design Award and the Eyes and Ears of Europe Award.
She has spoken at numerous schools, universities, professional organizations and conferences such as Seybold, ATypI, TypeCon, AIGA, TypoBerlin, NY TDC (Type Directors Club), and was the keynote speaker at TypoTechnica 2002 in Heidelberg, Germany.
Additionally, she is a member of the American Institute of Graphic Arts (AIGA), the American Marketing Association (AMA), the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council, The Art Director’s Club and, last, The Americas Society.
The school's AIGA student chapter hosted a video conference lecture with designer Milton Glaser via Skype on May 12, 2010, the video conference followed a screening of the documentary chronicling Milton Glaser's career "To Inform And Delight".
