Abraham Logan

His father being Thomas Logan, Abraham Logan was born in Hattan Hall, Berwickshire, Scotland.

Abraham Logan (August 13, 1816 - December 20, 1873) was the owner and editor of the Singapore Free Press.

Living most of his life on Pleasant Mountain, Thomson Road, Logan later moved to Penang in 1969, after the death of his brother, James Richardson Logan.

On April 1, 1867, the transfer was finally made, with a bit of help from allies in London.

Also a prominent lawyer, having studied law in Edinburgh, Logan played a significant role in the historic transfrerral of the Straits Settlement to the Colonial Office.

Singapore Free Press

Abraham Logan took over the paper in 1846 running the Free Press for the next twenty years.

Thomas Braddell

On 10 June 1859 he was called at Gray's Inn ; in 1862 he resigned the Company's service and went to Singapore, where he commenced practice in partnership with Mr. Abraham Logan, as Logan and Braddell.
