In addition, unlike its predecessors, RPG Maker 2003 makes use of a real-time "ATB" system, like in the Final Fantasy games, instead of the classical "turn-based" system.
There is also an RPG-like combat in the game, in which Eshutā fights against enemies in a turn-based fashion akin to the Final Fantasy’s Active Time Battle.
