Hirsch first started out as a writer and storyboard artist for The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack where he worked alongside and befriended fellow animators J.G. Quintel (who would go on to create Regular Show) and Pendleton Ward (who would go on to create Adventure Time).
After viewing the pilot on YouTube, Shada matched his voice with the voice of Zack Shada in auditions with Adventure Time's creator Pendleton Ward and the show's producers, earning him the Finn role.
Her work on Adventure Time gained her Emmy Award nominations for "It Came From the Nightosphere" and "Simon & Marcy", and an Annie Award nomination for Best Storyboarding in a Television Production.
Ricardio is one of the few individuals in the Adventure Time universe to have a highly detailed face, which has been compared to the moon in 1902 silent film A Trip to the Moon.
