Amatuni

In the 13th and 14th centuries, this house, under the name of Vachutean, once more came to prominence in the Georgian sphere of influence; under the suzerainty of the Mkhargrdzeli (Zakarid) princes, they ruled again over Aragatsotn, as well as a portion of Shirak and Nig, a key fortress in Amberd.

Aragatsotn Province

Aragatsotn also shares a small border with Yerevan in its southwest between its borders with Kotayk and Armavir.

Gitavan

It is located a couple of kilometers outside the town of Ashtarak in Aragatsotn province of Armenia and is 20 kilometers far from the capital Yerevan.

Institute for Physical Research

It is situated near the town of Ashtarak in Aragatsotn province of Armenia, 20 km northwest of capital Yerevan and includes a small scientific settlement called Gitavan, inhabited by the part of its staff and by the scientists of the nearby Institute of Radiophysics and Electronics (IRPhE).

Kotayk Province

In the southwest, between its borders with Ararat and Aragatsotn, Kotayk also shares a border with Yerevan.
