Aizu-Wakamatsu Station

There is a webcam installed by NTT East on the walkway between platforms 1 and 2/3.

Rifled breech loader

The Imperial Japanese Army used Armstrong cannon during the Boshin War to devastate the Aizu castle town and force its inhabitants to surrender quickly, and British Armstrong light field guns proved deadly against Chinese forces in the Second Opium War.

Takani Megumi

Megumi is the youngest daughter of Takani Ryūsei, a well-known doctor in Aizu which was an important province supporting the Tokugawa Shogunate.

Takeda Kanryūsai

This branch of the Takeda clan were hereditary Aizu vassals, although Takeda Kouunsai was a well-known antibakufu activist involved with the Tengu-tou.
