Desiderio Alberto Arnaz y Alberni II (8 March 1894, in Santiago de Cuba, Cuba – 31 May 1973, in Miami, Florida, USA) was a Cuban politician and the father of Desi Arnaz.
In the spring of 1998, Parksville-Qualicum Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) Paul Reitsma had been caught by Cam Purdy, editor of local Parksville newspaper, Parksville/Qualicum Beach Morning Sun, writing letters to the editor for years praising himself and signing them under fabricated names.
The two surviving tankers are operated by Coulson Flying Tankers and are based and maintained at Sproat Lake near Port Alberni.
Following redistribution, the area became part of the Nanaimo-Parksville and Alberni-Qualicum ridings.
Although not technically on Robson Street but still considered part of the district, Burrard Street near Robson in addition to the areas of Alberni and Georgia Streets that cross near Burrard contain the most expensive upscale stores in the city, with prominent anchors such as Hermès, Louis Vuitton, Burberry, Tiffany & Co., Lacoste, Coach, Pandora, Wolford, Fogal, Ports 1961, Escada, Urban Fare and The Shangri-La.
He became a two-time high school state wrestling champion, while attending Alberni District Secondary School, and eventually continued his sporting career as a varsity team member at Simon Fraser University.
