Dillon received his early education at school in Banagher, County Offaly and then entered the missionary seminary at All Hallows College, Dublin and was ordained priest on 25 October 1863.
Father Dolan studied for the priesthood at the great missionary college of All Hallows College, Dublin, Ireland, and was ordained in 1925.
He was Professor of Pulpit Eloquence and English Literature in All Hallows College, Dublin.
He is the Director of a number of courses in Parent Mentoring, Interpersonal Communication and Relationship Studies at University College Cork and at All Hallows College, Drumcondra, Dublin.
