Allen Organ Company

Over the years, he built many home and church organs, and in 1971 the company introduced the world's first consumer-product digital musical instrument; in 2004, the Smithsonian Institution recognized the significance of this technology by acquiring the first Allen digital organ for its collection.

Electronic organ

Allen introduced the world's first digital organs (and first digital musical instrument product) in 1971 – the Allen Digital Computer Organ.

The builders of both custom and factory organs include the firms of Allen, Ahlborn-Galanti, Johannus, Viscount, Makin, Rodgers and Wyvern.

The first full electronic church organ was built in 1939 by Jerome Markowitz, founder of the Allen Organ Company, who had worked for years to perfect the replication of pipe organ sound through the use of radio tube based oscillator circuitry.
